Unless you’ve been living in a vacuum (or for some shocking reason you aren’t a fan), The X-Files is returning on January 24th with six all new episodes, reuniting our favorite duo Mulder and Scully. I love this for so many reasons, and I’m really, really trying to keep my expectations low because I know if I’m not careful, I’ll be hugely disappointed.

I was a huge fan back in the day. I was the nerd printing out stuff from fan sites to read, picking up every magazine that had anything X-Files related on the cover, and buying all the action figures and statues I could afford/get my hands on. Yes, I unapologetically have these (still in the box!) and I most definitely have this, this, and even this — the last three aren’t even in the box, BUT ON DISPLAY OMG! So the news of the return made me happy to say the least.

Oddly, I had been re-watching the series when the news of the new episodes broke. Well, I had gotten all the way up to season five when Netflix redid the first 16 episodes in glorious HD. So I restarted the series (at least to watch those 16 or so), and then I found out about the reboot. But I’m definitely not complaining. Those HD episodes are breathtaking to say the least.

And, even more recently, it was announced that an X-Files: Trust No One is hitting the streets in August. I’m looking forward to that one. It’s edited by Jonathan Maberry and contains stories from Tim Lebbon (!), Brian Keene (!), Kevin J. Anderson (!), and more! My buddy is going to see if his contact can provide a review copy for the site, but if that doesn’t happen, that’s a-okay because I’m buying that sucker anyway. It’s win/win either way. Either I get it for free and review it or I buy it and there’s no pressure to review it. I’m 100% happy no matter how it turns out because…X-Files.

Welcome back, agents Mulder and Scully. We’ve missed you.

This is going to be a quick hitter because it’s July 4th and I spent most of my day with family at my sister’s house.

My brother-in-law got me a pretty cool shirt:

I love shirts like this, shirts that have designs that aren’t immediately obvious to most people. I prefer logos like the one above over, say, a movie poster or character from a film (although I do own those as well).

I’m fairly certain I’ve posted this video before, but I don’t care. It never gets old.

So, yeah, happy 4th, everyone!

IT'S OKAY! I DIDN'T JUMP! (there was glass.)

I worked in our New York office this weekend. It has a nice view.

On Sunday, the new one-sheet for a movie I reviewed came out. Fourth quote down is from my review. Fuck to the yeah.

Click the poster, it gets bigger.

Click here for more info on the film, including the trailer, or just stare at the awesome of that poster like I’ve been doing. For hours.
