I moved my second blog off blogger Friday night, and it was a painless process.

Today, I have spent most of the morning updating a theme for the damn blog that I may or may not use, but I love working with WordPress, so I can’t complain too much.

But, the best part is, I am now “this” close to being blogger free. Once I grab the book covers from my old blog, I am done.

Plus I’m hoping if I like the new layout more, I’ll update it more. Because, between the two blogs, I tend to like the Metro Reading one a little more. I have no idea why, it just seems a little more fulfilling to me (even though I suck at updating it, but I hope I will have more discipline once it’s completely moved).

Good times, indeed.

I’m having a devil of a time posting on your blogs today.

It gave me an error on this one, though I think the comment posted, and I couldn’t post at all on Metro.

Unless you’re deliberately blocking me. 🙁

  • Okay, I had no problems on thoughts, and I changed the theme of metro reading until I figure out what’s wrong in the code.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

Can’t tell you why you couldn’t comment on this one, though.

  • Why did you want to move from blogger? Is there something I should know?

  • Blogger does not have the freedom to mod your blog like wordpress does. WordPress is more easily managed, and the add-ins are pretty sweet.

I can’t quite explain it. I just love tinkering with it.

  • Just my luck: I’ll like it and have to switch. 😡

    😉

  • I know they have a website version (a’la blogger), but I downloaded the program and threw it on my own site (obviously).

The fact that I can ban ips from commenting is enough for me. 😆

Like, on this page, the button to post a comment says “Submit Query,” and it didn’t used to, did it?

The other page, all the stuff on here like (Name (required)) was in like a foreign language.

Which is a shame, I might add, because I really enjoy talking books on Metro.

  • I didn’t change anything on this one.

The other page is german, and i have to go through it to make changes. but the comment link is broken, so i either have to figure out how to fix it or go with a new theme all together.

i haven’t decided what to do yet.

  • It sounds like WordPress is the better choice, but I still have affection for Blogger because I think it’s amazing that Google provided that service. I’ve also heard that Google is a good employer – I don’t know if that’s true or not.

  • I do like the idea of using my own isp and just using the software. Though, it will be a while before I have the time for something like that. Be prepared to answer some questions when the time comes 😀
